The inhabitants traditionally have held on to and manifested their cultural identity by using native materials harvested in the rain forest to handcraft beautiful artisan products such as shigras (bags), ceramics, bows, and arrows. Located in northeastern Ecuador, Napo has a wet tropical climate.

Kanoa Tours Kayak Schools focus on teaching all the essential skillas of kayaking such as: learning to paddle, reading river currents, performing proper river safety and basic river rescues, plus the art of the Eskimo Roll.
In the beautiful surroundings of the small town of Tena, you will have the opportunity to kayak various rivers during our 4 days school. Our classroom is always the river and our goal is to make learning a fun and memorable experience.

For beginners and people with no previous kayaking experience, this is the perfect way to try out the sport. You can learn and practice the basic skills of kayaking in a safe and fun manner, and kayak down a river on your first day.
You can choose from a large selection of kayaks, including some of the latest models in all- around boats, play boats and creek boat from Perception, Dagger, Prijon an Wave Sport.

RAFTING TRIPS
THE UPPER NAPO RIVER CLASS III
Our most popular! The Upper Napo River is also known as the Jatun Yacu River, wich means "BIG WATER" in quichua. "Big" is probably the best word to describe this river - BIG WAVES and BIG FUN!
A great trip for beginners and experts, it has the perfect combination of exciting rapids, calm pools, and fabulous jungle scenes to delight everybody. Being the headwater of one of the two rivers that flows into the Amazon River in Ecuador, this is a rafting adventure that should not be passed up!
No previous rafting experience is necessary.

The Anzu is a beautiful tropical river wich provides a fun and relaxing day of floating through small rapids and relaxing pools... all among the breathtaking rainforest.
We always take a sit- top kayak for the more adventurous members of the group to try!
