Cuenca (4 days / 3 nights)
Tour Description
DAY 02: You depart early to take the train Riobamba-Alausi (this part of the journey may change because of the continuous interruptions on the railtrack). In the afternoon you continue by car to visit the Ruins of Ingapirca. Finally, at night, you stay overnight in Cuenca.
DAY 03: Breakfast. This day you visit the Lake of “El Cajas” and enjoy a wonderful journey among heavenly sites where you would be able to observe the wild life and the beauty of more than 200 lagoons in the zone. After an incredible walk you return to Cuenca.
Optional: Instead of visiting “El Cajas” there is the possibility to visit the villages of Chordeleg and Gualaceo, famous for their jewelry and ceramic at excellent prices.
DAY 04: After breakfast, you have a tour of the colonial city and visit its most beautiful churches where you will remember some romantic times while walking in the narrow streets that still keep a mysterious old atmosphere. At the balcony Turi site you can admire the beauty of this city. In the afternoon you go to the airport of the city and take a flight back to Quito.
DAY 01 : You leave the hotel and drive on the South Pan-American Highway and along the Avenue of Volcanoes. You arrive at Ambato and go east to the village of Salasacas, famous for the handicraft of textiles and tapestries made in traditional handlooms. In the afternoon you visit the town of Baños and taste products made of sugar cane like molasses candy, brown sugar, sugar cane juice, etc., and then continue to the city of Riobamba where you stay overnight.Duration: 4 days
